type "MSCONFIG" in search program under start button.
-under "BOOT" tab click "ADVANCE OPTIONS". check mark on "NUMBER OF PROCESSORS:" and select highest processor number.
-"SERVICES" tab... just go here for more details
-"STARTUP" tab, check off everything that you don't want to load during startup
-go back to "BOOT" tab and check "MAKE ALL BOOT..." and hit apply than restart.
